China responds to U.S. threat to cut off trade with Spain, saying trade should not be used as weapon or tool

BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- The military strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran violate international law, and trade should not be used as a weapon or tool, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said here Wednesday.

Spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks at a regular news briefing in response to reports saying that U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to cut off all trade with Spain after Spain refused to support the United States in attacking Iran.
