Around 41.4 million Colombians are eligible to vote in the first round of the presidential election, including 1.4 million living abroad.
- Polling stations closed this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (Bogot, GMT-5) across the country, with 11 candidates in the race.
- With 92% of votes counted, far-right outsider Abelardo de la Espriella leads with more than 9,515,000 votes, followed by leftist candidate Ivn Cepeda with 8,977,429.
- No candidate secured an absolute majority. A runoff between De la Espriella and Cepeda is confirmed for June 21, 2026.
- To win in the first round, a candidate must obtain more than half of the valid votes cast.
