Friday will bring slightly cooler temperatures across Bulgaria, although conditions will remain typically spring-like with plenty of sunshine expected later in the day.
Morning temperatures will range between 9C and 16C, with around 9C forecast in Sofia. During the first half of the day, skies over Eastern Bulgaria will remain mostly cloudy, and scattered rain showers are expected in some areas. By the afternoon, however, cloud cover will gradually break apart and sunny weather will dominate across most of the country. A moderate northwesterly wind will continue to bring in cooler air.
Daytime temperatures are expected to reach between 22C and 27C nationwide, while northeastern regions will remain slightly cooler. In Sofia, temperatures are forecast to climb to around 23C.
Cloudier conditions are expected along the Black Sea coast early in the day, where brief rain showers are also possible. Before noon, the clouds are expected to clear gradually from north to south, giving way to sunny weather for the remainder of the day. Moderate northwesterly winds will continue along the coast. Maximum temperatures there will range between 20C and 23C. Sea water temperatures are expected to remain between 19C and 20C, with calm to slight sea conditions of around 1 to 2 on the Beaufort scale.
In the mountains, cloudier weather is expected before noon mainly in the eastern ranges, where isolated rainfall may occur. Western mountain areas will see more sunshine from the start of the day. During the afternoon, skies are expected to clear across all mountain regions. Moderate to strong northwesterly winds will persist at higher elevations. Temperatures at 1,200 meters above sea level will reach around 14C, while at 2,000 meters they are expected to remain near 7C.
Forecasters expect Saturday to be mostly sunny across the country, although light afternoon cloud development is possible over mountainous areas. Temperatures during the day are expected to begin rising again.
Elsewhere in the Balkans, sunny weather will dominate over the western parts of the peninsula, while eastern and southern regions may experience temporary cloud cover and brief rainfall. Cooler air moving in from the northeast will lower temperatures in some areas, while strong winds are expected in the northernmost Balkan regions.
Temperatures in neighboring capitals are forecast to reach around 27C in Athens, 26C in Belgrade, 25C in Bucharest, and about 24C in Istanbul.
Across Europe, much of Western and Central Europe will enjoy sunny conditions and unusually warm temperatures for the season. Spain is expected to experience particularly hot weather. Cloud cover will increase over the British Isles, northwestern France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, although only isolated light rain is expected there. Norway's western coastline may see light rainfall, while snow is forecast in the far north.
Sunny conditions are also expected across much of the Baltic region, although many parts of Eastern Europe will remain cloudy with periods of rain. Most Mediterranean countries will continue to enjoy sunshine, with only isolated showers expected over parts of Italy.
Forecast highs across major European cities include around 29C in Rome and Berlin, up to 36C in Madrid, 35C in Paris, and about 25C in London. In Moscow, temperatures are expected to stay much cooler at around 10C.
In North America, sunny weather is forecast for both Toronto and New York, with temperatures reaching approximately 24C. Chicago is expected to remain cloudy with highs near 26C, while Los Angeles will see sunshine and temperatures around 22C.
