Spanish government confirms new case of Hantavirus

MADRID, 26th May, 2026 (WAM) -- A Spanish citizen who had been under preventive quarantine at a Madrid hospital has tested positive for the Hantavirus, according to a statement from the Health Ministry.

The new infection concerns a close contact of an individual linked to the initial outbreak. The patient remains under clinical surveillance and isolation at Gomez Ulla Hospital, the ministry confirmed.
