KAMPALA, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's Abel Chelangat aimed at winning more races following his victory in Sunday's 2026 Barcelona Marathon 2026.
Chelangat clocked two hours, four minutes and 56 seconds to beat the Kenyan duo of Patrick Mosin and Jonathan Korir for his first major marathon race title.
"I am very excited after winning my first major marathon. This win will encourage me to continue working hard to be able to win many more races," Chelangat told Xinhua.
The Ugandan added that he would continue participating in many more international marathons to improve on his times.
"My target is to win a medal at the Olympics and I continue working towards that," Chelangat said.
