MEXICO CITY, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Spain and Chile will face each other in a friendly ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Spanish embassy in Mexico said on Wednesday.
The match will be played at Cuauhtemoc Stadium in Puebla, Mexico, on June 8, the embassy said in a social media post.
"It will be a sporting event that strengthens ties between Spain and Mexico," the post said.
The World Cup will be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
Spain will debut in the competition against Cape Verde on June 15 and will also face Saudi Arabia and Uruguay in Group H.
Chile missed a place in the tournament after finishing last in the 10-team South American qualifying group.
