JERUSALEM, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball club Hapoel Tel Aviv achieved an impressive 92-70 home win over CB Gran Canaria in the 14th round of the EuroCup on Wednesday evening.
It was the third loss for the Spanish side, who leads the 10-team Group B, while Hapoel holds a 10-4 record in third place.
Points and rebounds by Chinanu Onuaku helped Tel Aviv take a 22-5 lead in the 8th minute, on the way to 26-12 at the end of the first quarter of the game played at the Shlomo Group Arena in Tel Aviv.
Jordan McRae, JP Tokoto, and J'Covan Brown led Hapoel to increase the margin to 47-31 at halftime.
Hapoel widened the gap to 67-39, securing the victory already in the third quarter, which ended 70-47.
McRae scored a game-high 25 points, Xavier Munford added 19, and Onauku contributed 15 points and 9 rebounds.
John Shurna scored a team-high 16 points for Gran Canaria.
Hapoel will next play away against Montenegrin champions KK Buducnost on March 7, while Gran Canaria will host Italian side Aquila Basket Trento the following evening.
