MADRID, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- There was finally some good news for FC Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman on Wednesday when striker Kun Aguero took part in a friendly game played behind locked doors in what was his first appearance after signing for the club in the summer.

The Argentinean has been sidelined during Barca's difficult start to the campaign with a knee injury that means he hasn't played in any of their eight LaLiga or two Champions League ties to date.

However, he was able to play and score in Wednesday's friendly against local third tier side Cornella in a game in which Ansu Fati and Philippe Coutinho were also able to build up match fitness after their respective injuries.

French international winger Ousmane Dembele is also putting the finishing touches to the muscle injury he suffered while playing for his country during this summer's European Championships. However, while Aguero could play some part in Barca's next game, which is against Valencia on Sunday, Dembele's long history of muscle injuries means the winger is unlikely to be risked at the weekend.

Wednesday also saw Barca's Spain internationals, Sergio Busquets, Eric Garcia, Sergi Roberto and Gavi all return to training with the squad after their participation in the semi-final and final of the UEFA Nations League, in which Spain lost after a controversial goal by French striker Kylian Mbappe.

The club has still to confirm the extent of the hamstring injury suffered by central defender Ronald Araujo while playing for Uruguay at the weekend but Araujo is almost certain to miss the following week's key Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev and the first 'Clasico' of the season against Real Madrid the following weekend.
