DUBLIN, Ireland - A major drug operation was carried out at Dublin Port on Saturday, leading to two men appearing in a Dublin court on Monday.
The search operation was jointly conducted by garda attached to the GNDOCB and Revenue Customs Officers.
During the search, herbal cannabis worth in excess of €7 million was discovered and seized.
It is alleged the illegal drugs arrived in a container from Spain through Dublin Port.
Three men were arrested who were all detained in Garda Stations in Dublin. Since their arrest, two of the men, aged 47 and 49, appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice, District Court Number 2, on Monday.
The third man, aged 31, has been released without charge. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
