LONDON, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Liverpool have completed the signing of Spain international Thiago Alcantara from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich, announced the English Premier League champions on Friday.
The 29-year-old midfielder joined the Reds with a reported fee of 20 million pounds (about 25.8 million US dollars) for four years to become the club's second signing of the summer transfer window, following Kostas Tsimikas in August.
"I think it's an amazing feeling. I was waiting for this moment for a long time and I am very, very happy to be here," Thiago told the Liverpool club's website.
Thiago started his career in Barcelona before moving to Munich in 2013. He arrived Anfield fresh from helping Bayern Munich winning the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League in the 2019-20 season.
"I'm really happy that it finally worked out," said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. "I'm really happy to bring this wonderful person in as an add-on to the squad."
