Spanish island now available for private sale

Barcelona News.Net Monday 18th October, 2010

The idyllic Spanish island of Illa d’en Colom has been put up for sale.

The 58-hectare island comes complete with two sandy beaches and rugged cliffs.

The island already has a house, built by a family which has owned the land since 1904, when it was bought for the equivalent of around 47 euros.

A new island ruler will need to find around 6-million euros to buy the attractive location, 200 metres off the eastern coast of Menorca.

The new owner will be given the task of protecting the habitat and diverse wildlife, which includes a lizard that is only found on the island.

Illa d’en Colom is also in close proximity to the playgrounds of southern France and Italy.
